One of the collective peeves from all the Fat Dads on this site is awful customer service. And it’s been pretty much no holds barred for outing and shaming companies that hold the customer in contempt and provide nothing but appalling customer service. On a few very rare occasions, we get to recommend companies that go that extra mile and improve on already great service with some of those nice little extra touches. Please allow me to add Pentax Imaging Canada to the list.

We have this not-so-secret society here at work called The Brotherhood of The Disc, an amusing name for the 5 of us that banded together to pay top dollar for a Bosch Tassimo coffee maker. The “Why’s” of our purchase can be found here. So it’s no secret that we love our Tassimo coffee, none of the hassle of who will make the coffee, how much do we actually have to make and then or course who will be left to clean it. The reality is that we are 5 Geeks working on too many things at once and having one less issue to worry about was the perfect solution. We save money by not buying into the Timmie/Starbucks $5 Latté trap and we get to drink the same great coffee whenever we want regardless of weather and monthly finances. There was only one little flaw in our Tassimo plan and that was the machine itself…
I cleared my inbox and tasks this morning to download the much touted 4.7.0.148 update for the BlackBerry Storm and try to rekindle my love affair with the BlackBerry again. Lately, I’ve been getting that 7 year itch feeling whenever I use the Storm. The younger smartphones like the iPhone are suddenly looking really sexy and have recently become all grown up devices that makes an experienced user like me think that I might be missing out on something. But then there’s the MILF of all smartphones just around the corner, the Palm PRE, and you know that hooking up with this one again could be just like old times except that now the old cougar has so many more moves and is looking pretty damn good in that skinny little black number. So then, why would you want to stick it with the old faithful, apart from merely prolonging this antagonizing sexual innuendo, because after all these years you’ve really come to know each other and you know you’ll be able to rely on it. Let me explain… A big thanks to @julien for finding this awesome video. Those Mountie suits suit sure do bring back some memories of driving around the English countryside doing my part for international relations. We’re all taking the day off tomorrow to celebrate being Canucks. We’ll be back on Thursday to record our second DadCast. In the meantime please enoy some more Canadian Videos on our behalf. Once again I’m calling out Research in Motion for being web idiots. How can a Canadian company still not have a French version of their own site in Canada and yet have a Spanish version in the States and a French only site in France. [...] |
